How Vertex prepares workers for departure in about ten days

Recruitment, processing and follow-up. Here is what happens at each stage, and why a Level 1 licence lets us move quickly without cutting corners.

Families and employers abroad often wait months for a worker. Workers in Ethiopia wait too, unsure where their file is. At Vertex we have built our process so that, once a candidate is selected, they are typically ready to deploy in about ten days.

1. Recruitment

We recruit in full compliance with the Ethiopian Overseas Employment Proclamation. Candidates are selected against the specific requirements of our partners abroad, and against our own assessment, which puts weight on attitude, work ethic and reliability, not only on skills.

2. Processing

Once selected, each candidate goes through:

  • Documentation: passport, certificates and the employment contract
  • Medical examination at an approved clinic
  • Visa processing with the destination country
  • Clearance from the Ministry of Labor and Skills

Because we are integrated with Ethiopia's Labour Market Information System (E-LMIS) and destination platforms such as Musaned, much of this happens in parallel rather than one step after another.

3. Deployment and follow-up

Before departure, every worker receives orientation on travel, what to expect in the job and how to conduct themselves at work. After arrival we stay in touch to check on their safety, wellbeing and performance.

Fast does not mean careless. Speed comes from preparation and good systems, not from skipping steps.
